Wash Day Updated 2015

Products Used:
Kera Care *Natural Textures* Hydrating Detangling Shampoo
Kera Care *Natural Textures* Leave In Conditioner
Knot Genie Brush

This is an updated video on our wash day routine. The only thing that has really changed is the products that I use (Kera Care) and use of the Knot Genie Brush. I do wash her hair more often now that she's older and her body is going through changes. I wash it about every 3 weeks. So that's once a month or so.

I still separate her hair into 4 sections first. Sometimes I wash it while in 3 strand plaits or 2 strand twists. Lately, I just wash each section to make sure I get it very clean. I like to use leave in conditioner and finger detangle while applying it. Then I brush through with my Knot Genie brush.

Our hair really loves Kera Care products so I'm sure this is what we will be using for a while.

I have an updated blow dry video coming next week and a flat iron video posting soon too. I'm sure I will do an updated Twist video using Kera Care products this spring/summer. I can't wait to do that!!

Oh, I also have a trim video posting soon too. Until next post, happy styling!!

How a Tween Rocks Faux Leather!!

Hi Girlies!!

I have given my Brown Girl, A Che', a lonnnggg well deserved break! Now we are back at it again in full force!

I am doing an overhaul of the blog to include fashion, beauty, and lifestyle!! I hope the changes that I am making makes it easier to navigate through our blog to find what you need! I'm making all of the changes on my own so it is taking me some time to get everything just the way I like it.

This is our first fashion post of the year. I have found it very difficult to shop for my now tween daughter (age 10). I don't want her to look too old and most of the clothes on the market for her age group and the size she wears look way too old for her.

I have decided to start making (sewing) most of her looks with the help of my Mom. All of the looks won't be sewn by us, but I will be sharing more of my sewing heritage with you in our fashion features. My hope is that those of you who are having the challenge of keeping your daughter in age appropriate clothing find inspiration in her (my daughters) style with Mommy's help!

Her look for today is my favorite skirt pattern by Butterick B4593 made with faux leather, the jacket is also Butterick pattern, the shirt came from Walmart, and the boots from Target.

Rimmel London Eyeliner & Eye Makeup Remover Review

I received these products complimentary of Influenster to test and review!

My everyday look is eyeliner and lip gloss! These are my 2 must haves when it comes to makeup! When I saw that I have a new eyeliner to try, I was estatic!

Because I wear eyeliner almost everyday, the Rimmel Scandalyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner was the first item that I tried from my #frostyvoxbox!

This eyeliner goes on smoothly, doesn't smear, and I was surprised at how long it lasts. If you don't remove this liner, it will stay on all night while you sleep! It is Waterproof as stated!!

Because it does wear long, you MUST use some type of remover to get it off. I'm so glad that they included their Gentle Eye Makeup Remover in this box to try along with the eyeliner! I really needed it!

I used a cotton ball with a little bit of the remover to rub the eyeliner off. I would love to say that one rub does the job, but it doesn't. You have to rub your eyes several times for this liner to come off with this remover. It is very gentle meaning, it doesn't burn your eyes. It also works to remove eye shadow and brow liners. Since it states that it's for eye make up and I don't really wear foundation, I haven't tried using it to remove heavy makeup (foundation, concelear etc.)

Overall, I really like both products and will certainly keep a Rimmel Kohl Eyeliner in my makeup bag!

Madam Glam Nail Polish Review

This is a high end line of polishes and cosmetics. I used 2 coats for all of the colors listed except for the So Nude. I used 4 coats of it because it is the same color as my natural nails.

I wore the polishes without a top coat and they lasted for one week with very little chipping. If these polishes are worn with a top coat I'm sure they well last way longer than a week with little to no chipping.

Each color is very rich, only took 2 coats, and dried very fast. I am very pleased with this line of polish and will be purchasing more very soon.

Here's the list of polishes that I reviewed in the video:

Hot Date
Perfect Harmony
So Nude
Mint Cocktail

Purchase the polishes at www.madamglam.com FREE shipping on $30 or more! And don't forget to use the codes in the picture above for 10%,25%, or 40% off!

Follow my Grow Your Nails with Me Series and subscribe to our style channel HERE!

This is my honest review of Madam Glam polishes. I was not paid to do this review, however Madam Glam did provide me with complimentary polishes.

Happy New Year Girlies!!

I know that we are on day 6 of 2015, but since I haven't blogged since last year, I wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year!

I haven't posted a new hairstyle in a few weeks because 1. I planned to take a little time off to spend with my family. AND 2. My daughter caught a really bad cold over the Christmas/New Year break so I didn't want her to have to deal with me doing hair and stuff. Plus her hair really needs to be washed bad and I didn't want to make her cold worse by washing it while she's sick.

I plan to wash it this weekend, IF and only IF, she isn't coughing anymore and I'm going to flat iron it so that she can get a trim. I haven't used any heat on her hair since Sept of last year so I will be looking forward to seeing how much growth we have achieved. I can tell it has grown out some.

I also wanted to let you know that I have started a NEW channel called Brown Girls Style! It took a lot of prayer for me to make the decision, but I wanted to keep Brown Girls Hair strictly dedicated to hair, but we also want to share our fashion, beauty, and a bit of our life stuff and I didn't want it to get lost on the hair channel so I went ahead and started a new channel.

For now, the new channel will show Tween fashion as well as beauty tips and just fun stuff with me and my daughter. I may even include some of our other family members from time to time.

Currently, I am doing a Grow Your Nails With Me Series since I have received tons of questions and request for videos on my nails, I'm doing that on our other channel. Check them out when you get a chance if you are interested in growing your natural nails.

I also plan to redo this blog really soon. I think I have chatted enough! I'll see you tomorrow! And be sure to follow our Brown Girl Style Instagram and subscribe to the channel too!

Thanks so much for your support!!
