Rimmel London Eyeliner & Eye Makeup Remover Review

I received these products complimentary of Influenster to test and review!

My everyday look is eyeliner and lip gloss! These are my 2 must haves when it comes to makeup! When I saw that I have a new eyeliner to try, I was estatic!

Because I wear eyeliner almost everyday, the Rimmel Scandalyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner was the first item that I tried from my #frostyvoxbox!

This eyeliner goes on smoothly, doesn't smear, and I was surprised at how long it lasts. If you don't remove this liner, it will stay on all night while you sleep! It is Waterproof as stated!!

Because it does wear long, you MUST use some type of remover to get it off. I'm so glad that they included their Gentle Eye Makeup Remover in this box to try along with the eyeliner! I really needed it!

I used a cotton ball with a little bit of the remover to rub the eyeliner off. I would love to say that one rub does the job, but it doesn't. You have to rub your eyes several times for this liner to come off with this remover. It is very gentle meaning, it doesn't burn your eyes. It also works to remove eye shadow and brow liners. Since it states that it's for eye make up and I don't really wear foundation, I haven't tried using it to remove heavy makeup (foundation, concelear etc.)

Overall, I really like both products and will certainly keep a Rimmel Kohl Eyeliner in my makeup bag!

Andis Ceramic Ionic Styler Hair Dryer Review

How to, Blow Dry, Natural, Black, Girls, Women, Hair, Andis
Brown Girls Hair

This is my opinion of the Andis Ceramic Ionic Styler Hair Dryer. I purchased mine at Walmart, but I noticed when I googled it, Target has it for $15.79!! HERE! They have free shipping going on now for Christmas so snatch it up NOW!!

I really like this blow dryer. It comes with 3 attachments, a cool button, and 3 settings (high, medium, low). It has 2 speed settings! The high setting really gets hot and the medium (warm) setting is perfect for my daughters hair!

If you are in the market for a good functional hair dryer that doesn't break the bank, I recommend this one.

I haven't blow dried my daughters hair since August 2014. I plan to blow it out the first of 2015 for her trim, then I think we will go back to no heat for a while!

**This is NOT a sponsored post or review. I purchased this with my own money!!

The Knot Genie Review

*PLEASE NOTE*Although this post is sponsored, ALL opinions are my own.

www.KnotGenie.com

I have found the perfect product to add to our detangling process. If you are looking for an aide to your detangling process, look no further. The Knot Genie is available for you to try!

First here's a little history, The Knot Genie was created by Rikki Mor, Mom to 3 daughters. Through her frustration of fighting with her daughters while trying to detangle their hair, she searched high and low to find a brush or something that would help make hair time easier. After coming up empty handed, The Knot Genie was born.

The Original Knot Genie

What makes the Knot Genie different? It has varying lengths of teeth on the brush. While brushing, the bristles gently bend to unravel even the most stubborn knots. This brush has a unique cloud shape to fit the palm of the had which makes it a more comfortable hair brushing experience.

The original Knot Genie is shaped like a cloud and they have added 2 more brushes to the family. The Teeny Genie (a travel size Knot Genie) and a Genie Supreme (a Knot Genie with a handle).

The Teeny & Original Knot Genies

I have put all of these brushes to the test and here's what I found:

They ALL REALLY DO WORK! No fluff, No exaggeration, No lie!

The Knot Genie ($14.99-$19.99) is the large original version of the brush. I easily brushed through LARGE sections of hair at one time. It was very easy to hold and caused no pain while it detanlged her hair. See Video Below.

The teeny genie Knot Genie ($14.99) is a smaller version of the original Knot Genie. It's easier to use on small sections of hair or on a toddlers head. It's also the perfect size for travel.

The Supreme Genie ($22.99) is just like the other 2 except it has a handle. The brush is about the size of the teeny genie. I found this one very easy to use as well. This is the one that I used on my hair.

The Supreme Genie

I was genuinely surprised at how these brushes work. There were very few hair strands lost during the detangling process with them. (I have never detangled without losing a strand or two. I think that is normal.)

The process was PAINLESS for me and my tender headed child. These brushes also decreased the amount of time that it took me to detangle both of our heads of hair, especially my daughters.

I also used this brush on her scalp while I washed her hair and it helped clean her scalp.

There are not many products that I endorse, but I really do recommend this brush for anyone who is currently having a hard time with the detangling process. I am still in Ahhh at how they work.

You can get $7 OFF any Knot Genie brush with Coupon Code BGH7. Good NOW-December 31, 2014! Get yours TODAY! That means you can try the original genie with this coupon code for only $7.99+shipping. Purchase it HERE. I promise you will not be disappointed.

My VoxBox from Influenster/Product Review

Hi Girlies,

I just want to share with you a cool site that I found to be very cool. It is called Influenster. They select people to review complimentary products. It's a pretty cool way to read and write reviews on products, stores, etc. that you have tried or are interested in trying. If you are a huge social media user and you like to review/test new products, you should check it out!

There is no guarantee that you will be chosen to receive a voxbox, but it's worth a try! I did!

I came across it on Instagram and thought that I would give it a try. I received my first voxbox on today of Degree MOTIONsense invisible deodorant to try. I was very excited about trying it because I use Degree everyday.

So far I'm loving it and I'll update this post in a few days to let you know if the 48 hour new improved protection really works!

Note: "I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes."

You can purchase this now at Walmart! #DoMore

UPDATE September 24, 2014: PRODUCT REVIEW

I've been using the new Degree MotionSENSE deodorant for a little over a week and I am very pleased with it.

The fragrance that I have is Fresh Energy. It smells very good. It's a clean fresh smell. It rolls on smoothly. After it sets, it is mostly clear. I do have a few white lines in the crease areas where I put more product. But if I rub it in, it goes away and you can't see the deodorant.

It keeps my underarms dry and fresh the entire time I wear it. I've been outside at my son's high school football games, I've been outside at my daughter's little league (cheerleader) football games in the scorching heat and It has keep my underarms smelling fresh in spite of my heavy sweating.

I have put this deodorant to the test and I am pleased with it. It will be my deodorant of choice from now on!

Mixtina Shampoo & Conditioner Product Review

Side Note** The 2 products used for this review were sponsored by Mixtina. However, this is my honest review. I have not been paid or compensated in anyway to do this post/review other than 2 free 8oz bottles of product to try. Trust me, 2 free bottles isn't worth lying for.......I'd rather not post anything than lie.

Mixtina Product Review

Mixtina was started by a Mom who was having problems finding a product that would not leave her mixed raced (African American/Greek/Irish) daughters curls limp and stripped it of it's natural oils.

Mixtina was created to help mixed, biracial, or multiculturals (which ever title you prefer), have a product that caters to your coily, curly, hair type. It also great for natural African Americans as well as all other hair types.

They currently have 4 products in the line: Wavy Curl Shampoo & Conditioner and Coily Curl Shampoo & Conditioner. The products are All Natural and Sulfate Free. They all come in 8 oz bottles and are $11.99 each.

We used the Coily Curl Shampoo & Conditioner and this is our Review!

Mixtina Coily Curl Shampoo

What does it smell like?

It has a soft clean fragrance. It's almost hard for me to describe it. It reminds me of a soft male perfume type smell.

Did it clean her hair?

Yes! Because it is sulfate free, I thought it wouldn't have much lather, but I was very surprised at how much lather it has. I know that sulfate free shampoo's are so much better, but I find it hard to use them because I still have to get my psychic right when it comes to lather and cleanliness.

I know that later doesn't equal clean, but I tend to have a hard time reprogramming myself. I love me some bubbles! LOL

How did it leave her hair feeling?

It left her hair feeling very clean and it didn't strip it to the point where it was dry and brittle.

Coily Curl Conditioner

What does it smell like?

It smells just like the shampoo.

Did it have good slippage for detangling?

This leave in offered a very good amount of slippage for detangling. This conditioner can be used as a leave in or rinse out.  I wasn't sure prior to using it if I would leave it in or rinse it out. I made my decision after seeing how her hair reacted to the product.

I decided to leave it in because her hair felt ok with it and it wasn't sticky or icky feeling. I choose to blow dry her hair after leaving the conditioner in.

How did it leave her hair feeling?

It left her hair feeling slightly soft and lightly moisturized and it had an awesome shine! After leaving it in overnight, I did find that her hair needed additional moisturizer on it to keep it from being dry. Overall, this product did a great job.

Brown Girls Hair

Would I Recommend Mixtina to others?

Yes I would. I think Mixtina is a great product for anyone with a hard to tame hair type. It's the best sulfate free shampoo that I have used to date. Although my daughter isn't biracial,  I like it way better than the other biracial products that I have tried. I would recommend it to anyone who is in search of a All natural, sulfate free product line that gets the job done.

You can purchase Mixtina on there website HERE!

Roots Only Comb Applicator Bottle Review

Roots Only Bottle

I purchased my roots only bottle at a local Sally's store for $6.99.

The Roots Only comb applicator bottle claims to offer the following benefits:
*evenly distributes solutions so you use less
*no parting or sectioning required
*apply evenly in hard to reach areas

These are the instructions for how to use the bottle:

Scalp conditioning easy as 1,2,3!
1 Add desired amount of oil/conditioner to roots only applicator bottle
2 Comb and squeeze to condition scalp and roots
3 style and go for gorgeous hair

Hair color
1 mix solution and apply by combing to scalp and new growth
2 process and rinse per manufacturer's instructions
3 style and go for gorgeous hair

PRODUCT REVIEW

Did the bottle evenly distribute the oil so that less oil was used?

Yes!! The bottle evenly distributed the oil causing me to use less and it really works!!

Was parting and sectioning required?

No. I did not have to part or section her hair to comb through it with the bottle. Before using the bottle, I took my daughters hair down, combed through it, and let it hang. Then, I used the bottle to comb the oil through with no problem at all.

Roots Only Bottle

Did the oil apply evenly in hard to reach areas?

Because I'm not using the bottle on my hair, there are no hard to reach areas. The oil did apply evenly to my daughters hair.

My thoughts......

I really like using this bottle and will continue to use it to oil my daughters hair. It works wonderfully!!
I like that the bottle has the measurements on it because I can see how much oil I am using each time. The bottle holds up to 4oz of oil.

I will also purchase another bottle and use it to distribute leave-in conditioner in my daughters hair on wash day!!

If I ever decide to be bold and add highlights to my hair, I will use this bottle to do it!! I do recommend this product, especially to those who have a lot of hair to oil. It's truly a life saver!!

No More Suave for Us

TRESemme' Shampoo

I've officially changed our regular shampoo and conditioner from Suave to TRESemme'. Suave was my "go-to" shampoo and conditioner for my daughter when I would run out of Cara B or whatever natural shampoo that I was using at the time on my daughters hair.

On the other hand, it was the ONLY shampoo and conditioner that I used on MY hair all of the time for as long as I can remember. The reason I used it on my hair is because 1. it worked and 2. it was cheap...yep I said it, it was cheap!

Why did I decide to make this change?

Last month(June 2013), I went on a vacation with my husband and several other couples. Because we were flying and I was only taking a carry on, all of my liquids had to be in 3oz bottles. Well that meant I had to either purchase shampoo and conditioner in 3 oz containers or I had to bottle my own products into 3oz travel bottles.

Well, I was not about to bottle up anything. I went to the travel section in Walmart and the only shampoo and conditioner that was in 3oz travel bottles was TRESemmee'. I looked and looked and looked for some Suave and couldn't find any so I was like ok, this will give me the opportunity to try this product that I probably won't have if I wasn't in this situation.  I grabbed a couple of the shampoos and 3 of the conditioners.

While on vacation, I used them and loved them both. I found that just one wash with the shampoo was enough to clean my hair because when I washed more than one time, it stripped my hair more than I liked. It really didn't matter because when I applied the conditioner, I loved the way it made my hair feel. It was so smooth and silky feeling. I could really feel the moisture being added back into my hair.

After using it while on vacation, I was sold. When I returned home, I purchased the largest bottles that I could find of the shampoo and conditioner. I was so glad that I found a great product that works for us and doesn't cost a arm and a leg! I will definitely use the conditioner way more than the shampoo but they are both great products in my book!

Do you use any TRESemme' products? Which are your favorites?
