Our natural hair journey has been awesome so far and we are looking forward to more growth and new fresh styles for this year. I have quite a few things that I've been wanting to try and with a new year here, I thought this would be the perfect time to try them.
I really hadn't been concerned with co-washing (washing hair with conditioner, a no-shampoo form of washing the hair) and deep conditioning my daughters hair, but with her growing up (the big 8), I want to try both this year to see how it does for her hair and mine. I am huge on doing my research first, so I have been looking to the natural hair guru's on youtube for a good conditioner to use. I've decided to try
Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner. I will certainly be posting our progress and a review on how I like/dislike the conditioner. Hopefully, her hair will like it, because I don't like using a lot of different products on her hair.
I also want to change the type of brush that I'm using. Currently, I use a small black brush that is great for her edges, but does nothing for the rest of her hair. Any suggestions?
I am going to start doing written instructions on how to do the styles that I don't do a tutorial on....ok, maybe I should say, I am going to do more tutorial videos because I don't like doing all of this typing!
I also plan to do more post on
my hair since I've had requests from a lot of you. My daughter has always been natural, but I have not. I started my natural journey in 2009. I've been totally natural for 3 years now. It took a year to grow my perm out. I didn't do the BIG CHOP. That's a whole post for another day. Although I plan to do more posts on my hair, this blog will still mainly be hair styles for girls. I just think there are enough blogs and forums out there for women. So maybe I'll do one on my hair once every other month or something like that.
This is how my hair looks now flat ironed. I have no idea how long my hair is, I really don't focus on length, but I probably should document it before I start deep conditioning.......#JustATypedThought
In the summer, I love to wear wash and goes. The picture below was last summer 2012.
Well I think that's enough goals for one year and that's really all that I have to say right now. I'm a straight to the point person so if you have any questions or suggestions, just leave a comment or send me an e-mail. I always respond back!!
XOXOXO
and
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
