Lip Montlhy *Overview*+ Sneak Peek

Hi Girly's!

I subscribed to Lip Monthly back in December of 2014 and I decided to share with you what I think about it so far. Lip Monthly is a company that charge a monthly fee in exchange for a bag of lip products. I've received 2 bags so far.

*December 2014* Lip Monthly Bag

Pictured above is the December bag. It contained the following products:

Magnolia MakeUP-Lipstick w/Applicator-$15
Milani-Brilliant Shine Gloss-$4.99
LA Girl-Automatic Liner-$5
NYC-Lipstick-$.99-$2.99

The total retail value of the December bag was $25.98. Because December was my first month, I used a code to get it for $2.99. The monthly subscriptions start at $10. So if you look at the retail price, you got half off of the products if you purchased them separately for full price. Each month you get a new bag and it comes with a card that list each item that's included and the retail price.

It's not too bad if you like to try different lip products a lot. The item that I use from this bag the most is the Milani-Brilliant Shine Gloss!

*January 2015* Lip Monthly Bag

Items included in the January bag are:

Ofra-Lipstick-$19.90
Mica-Lip Color Pot-$14.50
Ecolips-Tinted Balm-$4.49
MMU:Harvey Prince-Fragrance-$12

Total retail price of the January bag is $50.89. Currently, I'm not all that impressed with the items that I have received so far. But I will say that my favorite item in this bag is the Ecolips-Tinted Lip balm. It's pretty good. But everything else is so so. I'm going to give Lip Monthly a few more months to win me over but after that, I'll probably move on to the next big thing!

I'll let you know what I get and you can make a decision on if it's something that you would be interested in trying.

Degree Girl *Just Dance* Deodorant

Hi Girly's,

My daughter, (A'Che') & I were out shopping one day and this bottle of deodorant caught both of our eyes. She has been using deodorant since she was 5 years old and the only brand that I have found to keep both of us dry and odor free has been Degree.

We were so excited to find that Degree has a cool one out that appeals to big girls (tweens)called Just Dance. A'Che' is like most little girls she loves ALL THINGS BLINGY!! What's cool about this one is that it has a little glitter that shows up under her arm. It's not a lot and you can almost barely see it, but it's there! I'm hoping that they add a little more glitter in the future because it's kinda cool!

The most important thing is that it smells great and it keeps her dry and odor free all day long! I thought this was a cool product to share with all of our big and little girls that have to wear deodorant!!

It's awesome that your deodorant can be blinged out too!! LOL

Updated Blow Dry 2015

Blow Dry, Natural, Black, Girls, African American, Hair, braids
Brown Girls Hair Blow Dry

Products Used:

This is an updated version of how I currently blow dry my daughter's natural hair. As you may already know, I am currently using the Kera Care Product line on our hair. I absolutely LOVE these products!! I wish I could get them to sponsor us because they are on the expensive side but totally worth every dime!

Kera Care does have a few other heat protectant products that I plan to try and possibly incorporate during our blow dry time but until then, this is what we are currently doing. I hope you find this helpful.

I also did a review on the blow dryer that we are using. You can watch that HERE if you want more information on it. If you have any questions or comments, let me know. I'll do my best to help.

Wash Day Updated 2015

Brown Girls Hair

Products Used:
Kera Care *Natural Textures* Hydrating Detangling Shampoo
Kera Care *Natural Textures* Leave In Conditioner
Knot Genie Brush

This is an updated video on our wash day routine. The only thing that has really changed is the products that I use (Kera Care) and use of the Knot Genie Brush. I do wash her hair more often now that she's older and her body is going through changes. I wash it about every 3 weeks. So that's once a month or so.

I still separate her hair into 4 sections first. Sometimes I wash it while in 3 strand plaits or 2 strand twists. Lately, I just wash each section to make sure I get it very clean. I like to use leave in conditioner and finger detangle while applying it. Then I brush through with my Knot Genie brush.

Our hair really loves Kera Care products so I'm sure this is what we will be using for a while.

I have an updated blow dry video coming next week and a flat iron video posting soon too. I'm sure I will do an updated Twist video using Kera Care products this spring/summer. I can't wait to do that!!

Oh, I also have a trim video posting soon too. Until next post, happy styling!!

How a Tween Rocks Faux Leather!!

Hi Girlies!!

I have given my Brown Girl, A Che', a lonnnggg well deserved break! Now we are back at it again in full force!

I am doing an overhaul of the blog to include fashion, beauty, and lifestyle!! I hope the changes that I am making makes it easier to navigate through our blog to find what you need! I'm making all of the changes on my own so it is taking me some time to get everything just the way I like it.

This is our first fashion post of the year. I have found it very difficult to shop for my now tween daughter (age 10). I don't want her to look too old and most of the clothes on the market for her age group and the size she wears look way too old for her.

I have decided to start making (sewing) most of her looks with the help of my Mom. All of the looks won't be sewn by us, but I will be sharing more of my sewing heritage with you in our fashion features. My hope is that those of you who are having the challenge of keeping your daughter in age appropriate clothing find inspiration in her (my daughters) style with Mommy's help!

Her look for today is my favorite skirt pattern by Butterick B4593 made with faux leather, the jacket is also Butterick pattern, the shirt came from Walmart, and the boots from Target.
