How to Make Your Own Hair Oil

FIRST READ this post about how to discover the right hair oils for your hair!

Now that you have discovered what hair oils work for YOU, you can now read on to learn how to make your own hair oils.

For starters, I like to suggest that you use equal parts of each oil in your mixture.

For example if you are going to use grapeseed, olive, and avocado oils, use the same amount of each oil.

1/3 cup grapeseed oil
1/3 cup olive oil
1/3 cup avocado oil

In my mixture for Brown Girl, I like to use more grapeseed oil in her hair then the others so my recipe looks something like this:

2/3 cup grapeseed oil
1/3 cup coconut oil
2 teaspoons castor oil

Sometimes I make it without the castor oil or with a little less coconut oil. It just depends on what her hair needs at the time.

The great things about making your own oil is:
1. It saves MONEY $$$.
2. It's tailored to what your hair needs.
3. You know exactly what the ingredients are.
4. It's fun!

I use the Roots Only Bottle to apply the oil to Brown Girls Hair!! Read about it here!
